FAQ

Parallel Globe Ltd

General

What is Parallel Globe?

Parallel Globe is a political platform designed to strengthen political awareness and encourage meaningful political dialogue. It provides a secure environment where people can exchange ideas, deepen their understanding of politics, and engage in serious, constructive discussion.

Who is Parallel Globe for?

Anyone who wants to share ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, connect with others, and participate on a platform that places security, identity, and trust at its core.

What makes Parallel Globe different from other social platforms?

Most platforms treat all users the same. Parallel Globe uses verified roles and access controls so that the people participating in conversations are who they say they are — which makes discussions more trustworthy.

Is Parallel Globe free to use?

Basic access is available to anyone who creates an account. Certain features may require verification or a specific role before they become available.

Is Parallel Globe available on mobile?

Yes, Parallel Globe is accessible from mobile devices through the web platform.

Accounts

Can I change my username after signing up?

Usernames can be managed through your Account Settings. Whether a change is permitted depends on your account type and any restrictions tied to your profile.

Can I have more than one account?

Individuals may have only one verified Political Voice account. Each Political Voice account can create up to two Lodges. If you wish to create one or more Organisation accounts, each Organisation must be registered and verified separately using its own email address and supporting documentation.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can request account deletion at any time. You will be asked to confirm the request with a verification code before anything is processed.

What happens when I delete my account?

Your account is deactivated immediately. Your profile, posts, comments, notifications, and activity are no longer visible to anyone on the platform. Permanent deletion is scheduled after a retention period, subject to any applicable legal requirements. Your email address becomes available for use again, and your username stays reserved during the retention window.

Can I reverse a deletion request?

Once submitted, account deletion cannot be cancelled from within your account. If you think you submitted a deletion by mistake, contact support as soon as possible.

Why is my account restricted or suspended?

Your account may be temporarily or permanently restricted if it violates the platform's Community Rules or Terms of Service. Where appropriate, you will be informed of the reason and any available appeal process. If you believe the restriction was applied in error, contact support for assistance.

Installing the App

How do I install Parallel Globe on my iPhone?

Open the Parallel Globe website in Safari, tap the phone icon (+) at the bottom right of the screen, then tap Share and select Add to Home Screen. The application will be installed on your device and can be launched like any other app.

How do I install Parallel Globe on my Android device?

Open the Parallel Globe website in your browser. Tap the phone icon (+) at the bottom right of the screen, then tap Install App. The application will be installed on your device and can be launched like any other app.

Why is Parallel Globe not available on the App Store or Google Play?

Parallel Globe currently uses Progressive Web App (PWA) technology, allowing the application to be installed directly from the official website without using an app store. This distribution model has been chosen to strengthen security, preserve the authenticity and integrity of the application, and help ensure that users always receive genuine versions from trusted sources.

Will Parallel Globe have native mobile applications in the future?

Yes. Parallel Globe will distribute a native mobile application through carefully selected alternative app distribution channels, allowing us to maintain greater control over its security, authenticity, and integrity.

Security

Does Parallel Globe support two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Yes. You can enable 2FA from your Account Settings to add an extra layer of security to your account.

What is 2FA and why should I use it?

Two-factor authentication means that in addition to your password, you will need to enter a one-time code to confirm your identity. It significantly reduces the risk of someone accessing your account even if your password is compromised.

Why did I receive a security code I was not expecting?

Security codes are only sent when a specific account action requires confirmation — like enabling 2FA, resetting your password, or deleting your account. If you received one without requesting it, contact support immediately as it may indicate unauthorised access attempts.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. Sensitive data, including identity documents, is encrypted before being stored. The platform uses AES-256-GCM encryption, which is the same standard used in financial and government systems.

Who can access the documents I upload?

Access to uploaded documents is strictly restricted. Only authorised verification processes can access them, and all access is governed by strict role-based permissions.

What should I do if I think my account was accessed without my permission?

Change your password immediately, check your active sessions in Account Settings, and contact support at support@parallelglobe.io. If 2FA is not already enabled, enable it right away.

Does Parallel Globe have access to my CipherCall conversations?

No, CipherCall uses end-to-end encryption. Only the participants in a conversation can access its content. Parallel Globe cannot read, intercept, or decrypt CipherCall communications.

Emails & Notifications

Why is Parallel Globe sending me emails?

Parallel Globe sends transactional emails for important account events — things like account creation, password changes, security codes, call invitations, and verification outcomes. These are not marketing emails.

What should I do if I receive an email I did not request?

Do not click any links. Contact support immediately at support@parallelglobe.io.

Can I unsubscribe from emails?

Transactional emails related to security and account activity cannot be turned off as they are essential for your account's security. Other notification preferences may be manageable from your Account Settings.

Country Spaces

What is a Country Space?

A Country Space is a dedicated political environment for a specific country. It brings together political discussions, posts, PoliticTalk rooms, and Opinion Polls that are relevant to that country’s political landscape.

What is my Home Country Space?

Your Home Country Space is the country you selected when you created your account. It determines where you can publish content and serves as your primary political environment on Parallel Globe.

Can I visit other Country Spaces?

Yes. You can browse other Country Spaces to follow political developments, comment on public content, and participate in discussions. When visiting another Country Space, your profile will be identified as a visitor from your Home Country Space.

Why am I unable to publish in another Country Space?

Publishing is limited to your Home Country Space to preserve the integrity and relevance of national political discussions. The exception is Organisations other than Political Parties, which publish globally across all Country Spaces; Political Parties remain restricted to their registered Home Country Space.

Why do I appear as a Visitor?

When you participate in a Country Space other than your Home Country Space, your profile is labelled as a Visitor from your Home Country Space. This helps provide context and transparency during cross-border political discussions.

Roles

What categories exist on Parallel Globe?

Parallel Globe has three account categories — Parallel Citizen, Political Voice, and Organisation — each with different access and capabilities. See below for how roles work within each category and how to apply for one.

How do I get a role?

Apply for the role you want through the Conditional Access process. If the role requires verification, submit the required documents, and wait for the review. Once your application is approved, the role will be assigned to your account.

What is an Organisation account?

An Organisation account is designed for institutions such as media organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), governmental institutions, political parties, and think tanks. It provides tools for organisations to establish an official presence and manage authorised team members.

What are the account limits per role?

Individuals may hold only one verified Political Voice account. Organisation accounts are created and verified separately, and each Organisation requires its own account and email address. A Political Voice account may create up to two Lodges.

What is a Lodge?

A Lodge is Parallel Globe's equivalent of a page — a dedicated space a Political Voice account can create, separate from its main profile. Each Political Voice account may create up to two Lodges. For more extensive needs, users should register a separate Organisation account through sign-up rather than create additional Lodges. For Political Parties specifically, a Lodge serves as the party's digital headquarters and functions as the party's membership system, allowing people to join and be assigned roles within it.

Verification

Why does Parallel Globe ask me to verify my identity?

Certain roles and features are only available to Verified Users. Verification helps keep the platform trustworthy by confirming that the people behind accounts are who they claim to be.

What is Conditional Access?

Conditional Access is a step that some users need to complete before they can access specific features or assume certain roles. It involves submitting the documents required for your role so the team can review and approve your account.

What documents will I need to submit?

The required documents depend on the role you are applying for. You will only be asked to provide information that is relevant to your application.

How long does verification take?

Review times can vary. You will receive an email once a decision has been made.

What happens if my verification is approved?

You will receive a Verification Success email and your role will be activated, giving you access to the features associated with it.

What happens if my verification is rejected?

Political Voice (individual)

If your verification is rejected, your account remains a Political Voice account but without a Verification Badge.

  • Your account is not removed from the platform.
  • You will not have access to PoliticTalk, Opinion Polls, my Lodge, or the Search & Act panel.
  • Your verification record is hidden.

Organisation

If your verification is rejected, your account remains an Organisation account but without a Verification Badge.

  • Your account is not removed from the platform.
  • You will not have access to the Digital Licence, PoliticTalk, Opinion Polls, Membership, or the Search & Act panel.
  • Your verification record is hidden.

Can I apply for verification again or choose a different role?

Yes. As Parallel Citizens, Political Voice accounts, and Organisation accounts may apply for verification at any time. You may apply for the same role or another eligible role by completing the Conditional Access process and submitting the required documents.

Can I appeal a rejected verification?

If you believe your rejection was made in error, contact support with your account details and any supporting information.

Can I update my verification documents?

Yes. If your documents have expired, changed, or were previously rejected, you may submit updated documents when requested by the platform.

Feeds

What is the Feed?

The Feed is where you can publish and discover political updates, articles, media, polls, and discussions shared by individuals and organisations you follow, as well as content recommended by Parallel Globe.

Who can see my posts?

Verified accounts are always public. Parallel Citizen accounts may be either public or private, depending on the account owner’s privacy settings. Regardless of account type, both Verified Users and Parallel Citizens can choose the visibility of each individual post when publishing by selecting Anyone, My Globe, or User Globe. They can also choose who may comment on each post.

Can I edit a post?

Yes. You can edit your posts and comments after publication.

Can I delete a post?

Yes. You can delete your own posts at any time. Deleted posts are removed from public view.

Can I disable comments on my posts?

Yes. When creating or editing a post, open Post Visibility, then select Comment controls. From there, choose No one to disable comments, or select Anyone, My Globe, or User Globe to control who may comment on that post.

Can I report a post or user?

Yes. If you believe a post, comment, or user has violated the Community Rules, you can report it directly from the relevant post, comment, or user profile.

Verified Users may also issue strikes directly to users who comment on their posts, separately from Parallel Globe's platform-wide moderation system.

Can I save posts to read later?

Yes. Select the Bookmark icon on a post to save it. You can access your saved posts and other bookmarked content at any time from the Bookmarks section, where you can also organise them into collections.

Why am I unable to comment on some posts?

Some posts may have comments disabled by the author. In other cases, you may be unable to comment due to Community Rules enforcement or because the post’s comment controls restrict who can participate.

Can I share someone else’s post?

Yes. You can share eligible posts with others, subject to the author’s visibility and sharing settings.

What is the difference between Repost and Repost with Quote?

Repost shares another user’s post exactly as originally published.

Repost with Quote allows you to share the original post while adding your own commentary above it. Your comments are subject to the same Community Rules as any other published content.

Why does my comment not appear in the Feed?

When a Parallel Citizen comments on a Verified User’s post, the comment remains visible within the original discussion but does not appear in the Feed of any Parallel Citizens. This design helps prevent coordinated amplification of comments, keeps Feeds focused on original content, and encourages discussions to take place within the original post.

Moments

What is the Moment section?

Moments are short-form content pieces that provide a quick way to share updates, thoughts, or media with your audience.

How long can a Moment be?

Each individual Moment can be up to 3 minutes long. You can add multiple Moments as part of the same sequence.

How long does a Moment last?

Moments remain visible for 24 hours before they expire.

PoliticTalk

What is PoliticTalk?

PoliticTalk is Parallel Globe's live discussion feature. It allows users to create and participate in scheduled rooms on the platform.

How do I join a PoliticTalk room?

If you have a Parallel Globe account, you can register for a scheduled PoliticTalk room through the platform. Speaking access is controlled by the host, who can invite participants to speak or grant requests from those who raise their hand. If the room reaches its participant limit, additional participants will be placed on a waiting list. If you do not have a Parallel Globe account, you can only join as a guest using an invitation link provided by the host.

What happens if I cannot attend a scheduled room?

If you cannot attend, you will not be able to participate once the room has ended.

Can I host my own PoliticTalk room?

Only Verified Users can create and host PoliticTalk rooms.

Are PoliticTalk rooms secure?

Yes. PoliticTalk rooms operate within the Parallel Globe platform and are accessible only to registered participants and invited guests.

CipherCall

What is CipherCall?

CipherCall is Parallel Globe’s end-to-end encrypted calling system. It enables secure audio communication between users whilst protecting the privacy of every conversation.

Is CipherCall end-to-end encrypted?

Yes. All CipherCall conversations are protected by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the participants can access the conversation.

Can Parallel Globe access my CipherCall conversations?

No. Parallel Globe cannot access, intercept, read, record, or decrypt any CipherCall conversation.

Can I use CipherCall as a standalone app?

Yes. CipherCall is available as a standalone application. A Parallel Globe account is required to activate and use it, but once installed it can be used independently whilst remaining linked to your Parallel Globe account.

How many people can join a CipherCall?

Parallel Citizens can make one-to-one encrypted calls. Verified Users can make one-to-one or group calls with up to five participants.

Messaging

Can anyone send me a message?

Yes. Any user may send you an initial message. Once you and the other user become friends or follow each other mutually, you can exchange unlimited messages.

Can I stop someone from messaging me?

Yes. You can block a user from their profile at any time. Once blocked, they will no longer be able to send you messages.

Does Parallel Globe show when I am online?

No. Parallel Globe does not display your online status or last seen activity.

Opinion Polls

Who can create Opinion Polls?

Only Verified Users can create Opinion Polls.

Who can vote in Opinion Polls?

Both Parallel Citizens and Verified Users can vote in Opinion Polls, subject to any participation settings selected by the poll creator.

Digital Licence

What is a Digital Licence?

A Digital Licence is an official digital authorisation issued by Parallel Globe to eligible political parties. It enables them to create and manage an official Political Party account on the platform.

Who can apply for a Digital Licence?

Only Verified Political Parties may apply for a Digital Licence. After their Political Party account has been verified, they may complete the Digital Licence application by providing the required information about the party and either its official website or an official social media account.

Is a Digital Licence recognised by governments?

A Digital Licence is issued by Parallel Globe and serves as a digital authorisation for political parties within the Parallel Globe ecosystem. It is designed to facilitate political organisation and participation, particularly where the creation or operation of political parties faces legal or practical restrictions. It does not replace any registration or licensing requirements that may exist under national law.

How long is a Digital Licence valid?

A Digital Licence is valid for one year from the date of issue. It may be renewed annually.

Moderation & Reporting

Why was my content removed?

Content may be removed if it violates the Community Rules or the Terms of Service.

Can I report a post, comment, or user?

Yes. You can report posts, comments, or users that you believe violate the Community Rules.

What is the Search & Act panel?

Search & Act is a tool available to Verified Users that allows them to search for specific words or phrases — such as insults or threats — across comments on their posts. It surfaces all users who used those terms, allowing the Verified User to review and take action, including issuing strikes or blocking.

What happens if I receive strikes from a Verified User?

Verified Users can issue up to four strikes to users who comment on their posts. The first three strikes are warnings. On the fourth strike, you will no longer be able to comment on that Verified User's posts. The Verified User who issued the strikes can lift this restriction at any time. This is separate from Parallel Globe's own enforcement system; you may continue to use Parallel Globe and interact with other users as normal, unless additional enforcement action is taken by Parallel Globe directly.

Can I block another user?

Yes. You can block another user at any time from their profile. Once blocked, they can no longer interact with your content or contact you through the platform. You can review and manage your blocked users from Settings.

Can I appeal a moderation decision?

Yes. Where appropriate, you may appeal moderation decisions through the platform or by contacting Parallel Globe support. Appeals are reviewed in accordance with our moderation procedures.

Does Parallel Globe use automated tools to moderate content?

Yes. Parallel Globe uses automated screening tools to check posts, comments, and uploaded images for potential policy violations — including abusive language and explicit content. These tools assist our moderation team but do not make final decisions. Any action that significantly affects your account is subject to human review.

Privacy

Does Parallel Globe sell my data?

No. Parallel Globe does not sell your personal data.

Who does Parallel Globe share data with?

Only the third-party services required to operate the platform are involved in handling your data. These include infrastructure providers, and sensitive data is always handled under strict security controls.

Does Parallel Globe use my political opinions for advertising?

No. Parallel Globe does not use your political opinions, political activity, or interactions to target advertising or influence the content you see.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored across secure infrastructure in Iceland and Switzerland. The Parallel Globe website and most account data are hosted in Iceland. PoliticTalk and CipherCall, along with their associated data, are hosted in Switzerland. Photos and videos are delivered separately through a secure content delivery network, distinct from our Iceland and Switzerland infrastructure. All data is encrypted before storage and protected using industry-standard encryption.

Does Parallel Globe comply with data protection laws?

The platform is built with privacy and data protection as core requirements. For specific legal queries, contact support.

Why does Parallel Globe ask for more from users than most platforms?

Because trust and accountability matter here. The platform is built for real conversations about real issues, and that requires knowing that the people involved are genuine. Verification and access controls exist to protect the quality of those conversations.
